Bannock Woman pastel
was done a couple of days after two young women from Fort Hall, Idaho visited my small gallery. I did it from memory later as an impression of character more than features.

Her smile was minimal, but it lit the room. Wish I could capture it.

I will always remember her friend, the shy one. She did more of the talking, proud of reconnecting with her tribal heritage through her grandmother.
